Red River: Music

Don't Blame The Moon

(Red River)
July, 2005
Music & Lyrics by Michelle Anderson; Produced by Dave Anderson
Your sleepless nights
Your lost appetite
The giddy mood that overtakes
Your senses at night
Don’t blame the moon
Oh no, don’t blame the moon

Walk around in a daze
A blue-haloed maze
You think that you’re enveloped
By a drug-induced haze
Don’t blame the moon
Oh no, don’t blame the moon

He’s just a casual observer
But he likes what he sees
He smiles down bright upon you
As you fall to your knees
And ask, God, what is this spell
That has banished me
From all reason
Oh no, don’t blame the moon

It’s a known malady
Poets talk all the time
A true banality
With no reason or rhyme
So welcome, newcomer
To the land of the swoon
It’s very frightening
But oh no, don’t blame the moon

But so enlightening
So, oh no, don’t blame the moon
