A frantic scream

Bad nightmare

Scary night

Tough as I fight
It holds on and won’t let go
A stranglehold
Of apprehension
The moon has turned black
Push through the weeds
A tangle of fear and mourn
A plea for dawn

The shadows laugh

Scary night
